Adopt-A-Corner Volunteers

The East Pasadena Community Defense Corner (CDC) has put a call out for volunteers to help with shifts are the Pasadena Home Depot. You can contact them at eastpasadenacdc@proton.me More information below.

The East Pasadena Community Defense Corner (CDC) is organized by volunteers who care about our community and are not willing to look away while inhumane, unconstitutional ICE raids terrorize our neighbors. We were inspired by the Community Defense Corners of NW Pasadena and follow the National Day Laborers Organizing Network (NDLON) process to adopt day laborer and street vendor locations to provide information and support. We always need volunteers who can commit to 2-hour shifts on site. We need compassionate people who can remain calm and keep their focus on safety and community building. We will give you training on site but first, please watch this recording of a training conducted by NDLON. It will help you understand how we work: NDLON TRAINING. (Please note that there is a sound problem in the beginning. Just be patient.) After completing the training, please contact us at eastpasadenacdc@proton.me so we can answer questions and show you how to sign up for shifts. Whether it be offering your time once a week or more, we survive off of the support of volunteers like you so we hope you will join us in protecting our neighbors and educating our community!

Upcoming Local Events

We are seeking volunteer(s) to help collate a weekly list of Altadena, Pasadena and other local actions for the newsletter. Send an email to: indivisible.alta.pasadena@gmail.com if you can contribute time to this work!

One Million Rising Session 2: How to Make it Happen

Indivisible recently launched the One Million Rising campaign - "a national effort to train one million people in the strategic logic and practice of non-cooperation, as well as the basics of community organizing and campaign design".

Session 2 is coming up on Wednesday July 30th at 5pm. "Learn not just our strategy, but how you can lead a discussion with others and get them on board with taking action in your community. You'll host your first community resistance gathering after this session, before our next session."

Below are some resources from the first session and a link to watch the recording.
