Communication plan for 6/14 No Kings day of action
Hello Indivisible members!
We are planning to setup a Signal group chat for this weekend as many of us will be attending No Kings mobilizations in Pasadena & LA area.
With all of the actions and protests this week, it's clear we could benefit from a rapid and secure communication channel like Signal for the group to share information. For those who haven't used Signal before, it can be used much like any group messaging app but is a more secure communication channel! We could use it for sharing information and updates from No Kings and other mobilizations as well as sharing photos, locations, scheduling meet ups with members etc. The channel could also be a rapid way to communicate any mutual aid requests (e.g. if anyone needs assistance on the day like transportation) if they come up.
Thinking long-term, Signal could also be a place for Indivisible Alta-Pasadena members to connect and share resources beyond this weekend. Indivisible Alta-Pasadena on Facebook is still an active place and will still be available as a communication channel, but as many folks are moving over to Signal for online security concerns, we also want to add this tool for the group!
